Adobe Photoshop Elements 8
Leave downloading in the back ground and begin your warm up.
Look over the work of the artists we are studying. What composition layouts are they implementing in their work? How do these layouts impact the viewer? How have the artists manipulated their subject matter in order to create an interesting composition?
Task#1: Images
Look through your image (photos of your wrapped object) and decide which image/s would be best to use for your final.
Task#2: Project Paper Requirements
Your final area of your project must be between 400-500 square inches:
18x24=432, 22x22=484, 20x20=400, (16x9)3=432....
Task#3: Composition
Once you know what size/s you want your project you can begin planning your project. Create 3 composition thumbnail sketches in your sketchbook. These should be around 3x5 inches each. You do not need a lot of detail or value. You should just be looking at how to apply compositional rules to your project space.
Task#4: Document
Take a picture of your 3 sketches. Start a "project plan slide" in your digital sketchbook. Add these images and make sure indicate size and scale.
Task#5: Photoshop project plan
Using your thumbnail sketch ideas as your guide create a project plan.
- create a project page that is the same size as your composition
- for triptych and diptych use a project size slightly larger on each side to leave room for spacing
- view-ruler-so you can see the size
- insert your wrapped photo keeping in the correct scale
- same images as finalprojectplan.jpg and add to your good drive folder and to your "project plan slide"
Task#6: Closure
Reflect on your project plan (add to slid). PRESENTATION
Describe your composition, size/scale, layout. Why did you select this layout? How does this layout impact the viewers relationship with the subject? What materials will you use on your final project? How will you implement them, refer back to your charcoal, gesso, watercolor study.
