- Go to Schoology and complete your daily required warmup.
- Vote:
30% Synchronous class work grade or 35% Project grade
for your 4 structures on alternative surfaces. This is the Project rubric you would be scored on:
25pts Composition= free 25 points because I am not scoring this criteria
25pts Space=Use of perspective/positive and negative space
25pts Creativity=Cargo Container design, interesting and unique structures
25pts Craftsmanship/Material Usage=exploration and application of materials, level of completion
Slide Correction Process (regrade or missing work only!!!)
Do the following steps if you have work I need to go back to and grade. This is only for work you have received a zero/low grade or missing mark in powerschool; not for new assignments that I haven't yet graded.
- Make all corrections or additions to your slide in red so I know what to regrade (unless everything is new then just use regular black text)
- Put a large red circle on the slide so I can quickly see what needs to be regraded. See examples below.
- I will remove the red circle when I have graded/regraded the work
Take the first 5 minutes of class and see if you can find 4 different kinds of surfaces to work on instead of just white paper:
Paper grocery bags, notebook paper, fast food packaging, newspaper, receipts, old mail, old class notes...
- draw 4 structures on 4 different types of surfaces
- work large but the structure must fully fit on the page
- each structure must be made out of cargo containers
- each structure must show cargo divisions as well as windows and doors
- Cargo structure should be:
- complex
- interesting and unique
- use good negative space
- be drawn in perspective
- explore ways of using different types of media to make the structure your focal point.
You can create your own structures from your imagination or you can use other images as inspiration: Google "Modern Architecture Drawing" or "Modern Architectural Sketches"
Look for interesting structures that could utilize the cargo structure:
Due Monday 11/9 at 9AM
11/2-Slide should be started with 2 finished images
- Create 1 slide for all 4 alternative surface and material studies.
- Reflect on what you learned. What worked out well, what didn't? What might you do differently in the future. Be specific when discussing the different surfaces and materials
- When you have finished all 4 images score yourself (out of 4) using the following criteria (Space, Creativity, Material Usage/Craftsmanship). Discuss why you gave yourself the score, strengths and weaknesses as well as areas for improvement and possible future application on your final project.
