Task#2: Background Demo Transition analogous colors, use palette, dilute w/ water (transparent layers). Decided on a light source. Task#3: Foreground Demo Mix colors for grass or water features and roads, keep all colors blended (not from the palette) and diluted Task#4: Buildings Demo Working with complementary colors you will need to mix neutral colors to give the effect of reflective glass. You must select a light source. One side of your buildings will be in shadow the other side will be a highlight. Gallery Critiques were due on Tuesday 5/29. If you have it today you will get 25 bonus points.

Warm Up: Reflection 5/14
Look over images of your city and decide which form of perspective would be best for you to use: 1 point or 2 point. Why did you make this choice? Can you find images of your city that fit this form of perspective? What aspects of the city do you fill will be the hardest to draw in perspective? Task#1: Images Find 4 images of your city that will fit the form of perspective you have selected. Save these images as Yourname_image1.jpg, Yourname_image2.jpg.... Add images to the class folder linked below. It will not look exactly like your images because photos are in an expanded perspective with distant vanishing points (usually 4 point perspective). Draw a box on one side of your sketchbook. Leaving a boarder for vanishing points. Task#4: SOL prep Have all images you may need in the drop boxes linked above. Task#5: Perspective Sketch Reflection 5/15 What form of perspective did you select? Why? Describe the image you used as your reference? Why did you select this image? Did it perfectly fit your choice of perspective? What changes did you have to make for his picture to fit your perspective? Elaborate! What will you do differently when you start your final project tomorrow? What images do you need in order to work on your project during our SOL Block? You will work on this today and Thursday. Your MindMap and Sketchbook is due at the end of class. Task#3: Requirements Composition -fill the page / use elements and principles of art Content -cover at least 6 eco-design ideas/concepts, 1 sketch per concept, one printed image per concept, discuss idea behind the concept and how it works Creativity -make your MindMap interesting and unique Craftsmanship -neat and clean, write in pen, use good line quality, use good fonts Task#4: Urbanized We will continue with the Urbanized documentary. As you work on your mindmap listen to the concepts and ideas for urban design discussed in the movie. Task#5: Monday/Tuesday (5/7 & 5/8) Go to the next clean double page spread of your sketchbook.
