Must be on your digital sketchbook by 9AM. Do not open your digital sketchbook after you have submitted your artist research in order to keep from getting a late grade.
Task#1: Due Dates
1/13: Artist Research (On Powerpoint by 9AM)
1/20: Final Project (Must have 4-5 process steps documented)
1/23: Gallery Critique
Task#2: Supplies
Get out projects and supplies (charcoal, eraser, gesso, watercolor, paintbrush, paint palette water cup)
Task#3: Projects
DO NOT FORGET TO TAKE PROCESS STEP PICTURES!!!
At this point your composition should be blocked in on your project paper and you should have at least one process step image (see process step example on 1/6/17 blog post). You should now be working on/finishing up your background and or pushing value with charcoal and the eraser. Do not get caught up trying to make this step "perfect"...it layer one of many. You will go back and forth with gesso, watercolor and charcoal several times to create your final image. Add process step picture to your drive folder and your digital sketchbook.
Task#4: Clean UP
- Return charcoal and erasers to the front table.
- Thoroughly clean your brushes and return them to the brush cup on the center table.
- Clean your palette and return it to the dish rack. If you had to washout a lot of gesso, don't get some much next time so we don't waste supplies.
- Projects go in the 2nd block section of the drying rack. Place cover sheet under project.
- Wipe down table with soapy towel, then dry with towels hanging by the back door.
Task#5: Homework
Organized Drive folder
- You should only have two folders (Unit1:Utopia & Unit2:Wrapped)
- Your Digital Sketchbooks should be in the main folder for this class not in the unit folders for easy access.
- Everything else should be in the unit folders depending on the content.
- All images you have used for each unit should be in your drive folder for back up. Meaning images on your powerpoint should also be in your drive folder. Everybody should have an art folder on their desktop, just add those images to the correct google unit folder.
