Task#1: Print 3.5 x 5 inch size image of each members view.
Task#2: Thumbnail Sketch Ideas
Guided Practice:
If you could take perspective and having to render the form out of the equation how would that impact your implication of the imagination process. We will work with graphic transfers today. We used this process last year to transfer out final photoshop portrait to the project paper. I will demonstrate how to make a transfer using a color pencil, ruler and a pen. The transfer process will allow you to quickly render your image in order to experiment with multiple ideas in order to achieve the best out come through the planning and thumbnail process. Creating thumbnail ideas is the best way to use the Design Cycle. This process gives you multiple avenues to consider allowing you to reflect and rework an idea to make it stronger.
Independent practice: Page 36/37
Be a RISK-TAKER!!!!
You will first use the template given to create 4 boxes on your paper for your 4 different thumbnail ideas (if you want to experiment with a different size format you may just sketch the thumbnail box to match the proportions you would like for you project. Do not just redraw the same idea over and over. Push yourself creatively. How can you make your image unique and interesting in order to draw attention to your groups design. These will still be scored using the same rubric, do don't forget rules for composition, space and material usage and craftsmanship. Next to each thumbnail you will need to write a short reflection explaining the thumbnail and what materials your would want to use.
Task#3: Media Studies
You will need to create media studies for the thumbnail you want to use for you final project. Anything that appears in your final product you will need a media study for to show that you have experimented in order to make the best choice of materials for you project.
Media Studies and Final Project Plan will go on pages 38/39. I will elaborate on this next class.
