Task#2: Natural Organic Motifs Design
- A motif may be repeated in a pattern or design, often many times, or may just occur once in a work. A motif may be an element in the iconography of a particular subject or type of subject that is seen in other works, or may form the main subject, as the Master of Animals motif in ancient art typically does.
- Create a simple natural Motif/Design in the crops space on your post-it. Think about positive and negative space, line quality, movement and contrast.
- take a picture)
- add picture to easy cut practice slide (just give it a title and label images reflection needed)
Task#3: Transfer
- Using powdered graphite and a pen, transfer your image to your easy cut square
- outline design with ultra-fine sharpie
- DO NOT PRESS DOWN
- If you just lightly apply the sharpie to the surface it goes on very easily
- if you apply to much pressure the sharpie will just dry out because of the powder on the surface of the print matrix
- Take a picture of your sharpie outline (add to slide)
Task#4: Cut out design
- decided if you want to cut out the positive or negative shapes
- see cutout demo
- cut your block
- take a photo add to slide
