Task#2: Images
Take pictures of your 2-3 collages
Task#3: Collage Process slide
Include the 1-2 images of your collage material
image of each of your collages (2-3)
Task#4: Gesso
After you have taken a picture of your collages we will add a layer of gesso to the the surface. This layer of gesso will help to soften the contrast and give a good surface for mixed media and transferring.
Task#5: Images
Document your images after gesso
Task#5: Slides
Create two new slides (one for each collage)
put the pre-gesso image and the gesso image on this slide.
Reflect on the collage process for each
we will add more to the slide as we finish the projects
- what composition decision did you make while creating this collage?
- how does the content relate to you and your identity?
- elaborate on how you added gesso and what decision you had to make as far as transparency or saturation
- discuss your image transfer process
- why did you select this collage?
- what are your strengths and weaknesses with these processes?
- what would you do differently? Why?
Task#6: Contact Paper Transfer (3/1)
- find your photo
- if you did not drop a photo you will do the image transfer at home (you will need an 8x10 image printed from a lazer jet printer)
- attach sticky side of contact paper to image side of your print out
- use a spoon to smooth over the contact paper to make sure the image sticks (3-6 minutes)
- use water to carefully remove paper from contact paper sheet
- place on top of each collage image to see which fits the best
