You must turn in your sketchbook in at the end of class. If you have work you need me to re-grade you must tag it with a post it note. Make sure the post it note is hanging off the edge of the page so that I can see I need to re-grade your work.
Today in class I will demonstrate a few ways you can use the collage as a background for your portrait project. You are required to watch the demonstration but you do not need to do the media study if you are not planning on using collage in your final project. If you are not going to add anything to your collage you will need to glue it into your sketchbook and reflect on the process (both creating the collage and adding gesso and watercolor to the surface). We will begin media studies this week. You will need to create a media studies for any element you wish to include in your final project. If it is in your final project and I don't see that you practiced the technique you will be marked down on your Criteria B score. Media studies are the best way to insure that you have a successful project plan and final product. This process will also help you make the proper paper selection for the materials you would like to use. You will need to know the size and type of paper by Friday as well as the art medium you wish to use.
