Tape down media study paper to the card board.
Task#2: Acrylic Paint
Guided Practice:
I will demonstrate various ways to apply acrylic paint to the project paper. We want to start in light layers defining areas of highlight and shadow only. Details will be added in later. You will need to get a paint palette, a gallon sized zip lock bag, a cup of water and a few paint brushes.
Independent Practice:
You will want to work with in a color scheme (Analogous, Warm, Cool, Complementary). Start with light layers, blocking in shadow and highlights. Move around your page and between the two studies to give painted areas time to dry before you apply the next layer.
Task#3: Clean up (12:13)
Clean your paint brushes thoroughly and put back in the paint brush container. Your paint palette will need to go into the gallon zip lock bag and then be placed in your group cubby. Our class uses the cubbies with the purple post-it notes. Starting to the left when you walk in the door that is table 1 and the number goes around the room. The table directly in front of my desk by the white board is table 8. Your media studies will go on the drying wrack to the right of the sink. Find the 3rd block section.
Task#4: Homework
Create a piece of art that is in some way related to nature
Task#5: exit ticket
Get a post-it note from table #1. Write your name at the top and then write the name of your color scheme and what colors you used to create this color scheme. Turn in to me at the end of class.
