Task#1: upload your photo go to the drop box link and upload your self-portrait photo for our prismacolor project http://hhsartmattax.weebly.com/art-3-drop-box.html If you don't have a photo I must take your picture today Task#2: Finish your Prismacolor Studies -label colors Color mixing: remeber to lightly layer 8-9 layers of colors on top of each other. -blend highlights -blend mid-tones -blend shadows -mix highlights with mid-tones in a sphere -mix mid-tone with shadows in a sphere -create a final sphere with highlights mid-tones and shadows Task#3; Hand Study Using what you know about blending colors and shadow and highlights do a small hand study focusing in on two or three fingers. Sketch it out first then try and block in your skin tone. Task#3: Grid Once we get all images printed out we will grid our picture and our project paper. |

Warm-up: Finish Prisma color activity You will need to finish through activity 3. Task#2 Pictures: If you need me to take your picture let me know during this time. You will need to have your picture (high resolution/shoulders and up) by Thursday for me to print. Task#3 Prismacolor skin tone studies. If you started glazing last class please finish. Task#2: Last Day for clay You must have 2 cups, a tea pot with a lid, spout and handle. Task#3: All un-fired projects need to be placed on the tall cart by the back door. Anything left on the gray cart by the window will be thrown out. Task#4: Homework Finish Christo Research! You will be working on one of the following tasks:
Task#1: If your name is on the board by 3rd block you can glaze your work that has been fired, unless you are still finishing work. If you name is not on the board that means you have not paid your art fee and will not be allowed to glaze your project. Task#2: If you are finished with your project, but can not glaze you will be working on cleaning up and organizing the ceramics cart, boards and tools. Task#3: If you are not done with your project (teapot w/ spout, handle and lid and two cups) Tuesday is your last day to work. Task#4: Homework Finish Jean Claude and Christo research. On a separate piece of paper you will need to reflect on your ceramic processes. At this point everybody has worked with hand-building and wheel-throwing. Reflect on the techniques used to create your tea pot and cups. Reflect on you progress so far and evaluate your product. Discuss strengths and weaknesses of your design and process. Task#2: Turn in Reflection Make sure you have covered all processes using art vocab for this unit (see ceramic terms, tea ceremony research, and demo notes). Put your name on your reflection and turn it in to me. Task#3: Finish Ceramics Next Tuesday in class will be our last day working with clay. I will start packing up most of the clay stuff today. I will leave out wheel-throwing tools, a few boards and hand building tools. If you haven't already take your finished pieces to the cart so that I can fire them to be ready to glaze. Today is the last day to turn in late work. Task#2: Ceramics Wheel throwers: Start throwing you will need to clean up at 12. Hand builders: Get out supplies and clay and start working. Everybody needs two cups and a tea pot with a lid and handle by Tuesday of next week. Task#3: Thursday is your Exam Block Your exam will be a reflection in which you discuss your ceramic pieces and the processes you used to make them as well as evaluation of your work so far. Task#3: Select Projects Select 3 projects from the list below to research. Then select "learn more" to get further information need for section #6. Task#5: Using the paper provided Using the paper provided write a brief biography for the artists. Then sketch an image for each of the 3 projects you selected in step 3. The image should be about 4 inches by 5 inches.
