Task#1: Get out sketchbook and get ready to draw the still life.
Task#2: Still Life
We will work the whole class drawing the Still Life. It has been rotated so you should be seeing the still life from a new view point.
(While you are working I will talk to you about the VMFA Fieldtrip for November 16th)
Task#3: Composition
Remember composition rules: Work large, don't put your focal point in the middle of the page, have your subject go off the page on 3 sides.
Task#4: Value
Using the what you know from the basic shape chart try to block value onto your objects so that they have a defined 3D form. Look at value changes and contrast.
Task#5: Homework: Ribbon Study
(I will demonstrate how to start)
-Must have 4-5 ribbons
-Ribbons must be a variety of sizes
-Must go off the page on all sides
-Ribbons must fold and overlap each other
-Add value to show folds and curves
