InClass:
Task#3: Line Design (A1.8)
Guided Practice:
We will look at our flower drawings and discuss how we can use line design to create value. We will discuss how line quality, craftsmanhip, value, unity/variety and positive/negative space can impact your final piece. The line designs will need to fit into your drawing and help define the form of the flower by manipulating the size and scale of the design. We will build on what we know about the crosshatching and stippling shading techniques (More lines/dots closer together = darker the value, Less lines/dots, further apart = lighter value)
Independent Practice:
You will practice creating interesting and creative line designs using your 8.5x11 flower printout. Using a pencil (mechanical if you have one) you will draw directly onto your flower printout. Your goal today is to come up with as many different types of designs as possible. You will also want to practice changing the design to fit the contour and form of your plant.
