Warm UP: Get out your sketchbooks Oil Pastels are a painting and drawing medium with characteristics similar to chalk pastels and wax crayons. Oil pastels consist of pigment mixed with a non-drying oil and wax binder. Task#1: Color Theory Review Guided Practice: On the back of your composition notes page create a color wheel. In color theory, a color scheme is the choice of colors used in a design for a range of media. We will focus on the following color schemes while working with oil pastels: Analogous (3-5 colors next to each other on the colorwheel) Complementary (colors that are opposite each other on the color wheel that create neutrals when mixed) Monochromatic (one color mixed to create shades and tints) |
